If you are working on an academic credit, please note that I am expecting responses with more details, description, evidence, connections and inquiry.
1. Define: Introduction (or) Exposition as it applies to a story
2. How did you choose your novel? What interests you about this story?
3. Describe the setting of your novel (where and when does it take place) and be specific.
4. Was the author able to hook you into the story right away? If so, describe how the author did this. If not, talk about why you weren't hooked and what the author could have done differently.
5. Describe four main characters in your novel that you have been introduced to. For each character describe a) their general appearance, b) their personality, c) their relationships to other characters d) what they want.
6. What is the main conflict presented in the story?
7. Who is the narrator of your story? (Who is telling the story?) In some novels it is a character in the story. In others it is a third person that it outside of the action observing. In some cases it is omniscient, which means the third person or voice can see everything and tell what the characters are thinking and feeling. How does your novels use of narrator impact how you are experiencing the story?
