Local and Global news article selection
Instructions:
step 1) Find 2 online news articles of interest to you: one with a local focus and another with a global focus. The articles must be selected from two different and reliable sources.
Step 2) Print off both articles.
Step 3) Create a posting on your blog including: links to both articles, a one sentence summary of what each article is about and a few sentences explaining why these articles matter to you.
Step 4) Present and discuss articles orally in class (day to be announced in class)
Oral discussion questions:
What is your articles source?
What is your article about?
What is the MAIN point?
What supporting details or evidence is given?
What impact does this issue/event have? Who does it impact? Where?
Whose point of view (or perspective) is presented? Who point of view (or perspective) is missing?
How does this article connect to you? Us? The world?
