Welcome to English!
First thing you need to do is create your own blogspot in order to fully participate in this course! Follow these steps to get started, ask Jocelyn for help or watch the video below if you are having trouble.
1. Decide on an academic pseudo name (made up name) and write it down for Jocelyn. This is the name you will use on your blog in order to protect your own and other student's privacy.
2. Create a gmail account using your pseudo name, it's free and easy!
3. Create your own blog from this email. Your blogspot title needs to be your pseudo name. It is encouraged to include 'Oasis English 2010' underneath your main blog title.
4. Design and personalize your blog, but remember not to use your real name or post any personal contact information.
5. *IMPORTANT - Add a link on your side bar to THIS BLOG and then become a FOLLOWER of the blog. As students create their blogs, Jocelyn will post their blogspots on the board, go to each of their blogs and become a follower.
Rules
a)This is an academic blog ONLY, and should be kept private (under settings). This means that your blog can be searched if someone has the blogspot address but it will not come up in a general internet search. If you have enjoyed creating your own blog, please feel free to create another gmail account and create other blogs for personal use.
b) All student English blogs must be linked to this blog as well as ALL other student blogs.
c) Students are expected to conduct themselves within the TDSB and Oasis expectations. Any misconduct on any blog will result in being removed from the online academic blog community.
d) Academic pseudo names and blogspot addresses must be given to Jocelyn at the creation of your blog.
